Martial Arts Action Film Making... For Kids
Tue/Thu, 5:00pm to 7:00pm, June 11th thru Augsut 29th (ages 8 - 15)
This class will teach your child:
* How to make a movie... starting with how to create and tell a story (concept), screenplay, acting skills, how to create realistic "action" scenes, special effects, and a meaningful conclusion.
* How to operate a movie camera, lighting, props, and staging.
* Self-defense skills to increase awareness and self-confidence.
* Common sense VALUES, such as Discipline, Respect, and Hard Work to accomplish one's goals.
* How to function as a member of a team, where each person is recognized for their unique gifts with something valuable to share.
Each child will bring home a DVD of the movie they helped create, along with "out-takes" of fun times they had and friends they made!
Classes will be personally taught by "Sigung" (grandmaster) Fito (Adolfo E. Rivera) who is a movie producer/director, an 8th degree black belt in Kung Fu... and also very experienced with teaching kids! Special summer pricing for this 12 week program = $288 ONLY ($12 for each 2-hour class)... no registration fee required!

Martial Arts Action Film Making... for Actors and Directors
Sat, 2:30pm to 5:00pm (start date TBD) (ages 16+)
In addition to what is taught in the kids class (above), this class also teaches advanced Martial Arts techniques and choreography, as well as professional level Acting and Directorial skills needed for ACTION film making. Classes will be personally taught by "Sigung" (grandmaster) Fito (Adolfo E. Rivera) who is a movie producer/director, Action Film Instructor, and Martial Arts Master in Kung Fu, Karate, and Taekwondo, with extensive knowledge in Japanese and Chinese Weapons.
Each student will bring home a DVD of the movie they helped create, along with "out-takes" of the fun times they had and friends they made!
Classes will be personally taught by "Sigung" (grandmaster) Fito (Adolfo E. Rivera) who is a movie producer/director, an 8th degree black belt in Kung Fu... and also very experienced in teaching both martial arts and film making. At Montrose Kung Fu & Tai Chi we will help you achieve fitness, balance, agility, greater awareness while learning self-defense skills, improve focus, and develop internal power. Eagle Claw Kung Fu is a style of Chinese martial arts known for its unique fighting techniques, quick fluid movements, including 108 joint locks, sweeps and takedowns, and pressure point strikes. Eagle Claw is the complete kung fu system representative of the Chinese grappling art known as Chin Na. Eagle Claw is the only style of kung fu that fully encompasses locking techniques and pressure point attacks in combination with blocking, hand strikes and leg kicks. The training is comprehensive and balanced, and you will experience overall fitness benefits and learn valuable self-defense skills. Martial arts training improves your mental focus, coordination, balance, and overall awareness which is beneficial to your daily life.
White Crane Kung Fu has its origins in Tibet and is probably the oldest classical Chinese style other than snake. Crane is a highly effective combat system, so effective it is believed to have been used by the emperors of Chinas body guards. The Chinese believe that “jing” or libido is the essential energy which is characteristically associated with the crane and it is therefore reputed for its amazing libido and longevity and only natural that it was chosen to become a Shaolin animal. The crane demonstrates amazing powers of concentration - standing on one leg for hours with out the slightest movement, holding its energy within its body, the crane principle of patience but strength is incorporated into a Crane practitioners training. The crane can over throw or control an opponent with little effort using soft, circular techniques that can exert a rush of power on contact. Crane uses long and short movements for disabling opponents with long techniques to vital pressure points and short ones to disable limbs. To accompany these techniques the Crane will strike across an opponent with its wing in a slicing action. Practitioners replicate the cranes long neck and wings with stretched movements and the hands forming the cranes beak by pressing fingers and the thumb together to form a point. Crane practitioners can expect to gain better balance with speed, and to become supple with light footwork.
Tai Chi Chuan is sometimes described as "meditation in motion." Tai Chi is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise. To do tai chi, you perform a defined series of postures or movements in a slow, graceful manner. Each movement or posture flows into the next without pausing. The ultimate goal of Tai Chi is to relieve stress, improve health, gain balance and focus, and develop internal power. You will learn deep breathing to improve your circulation and overall health and wellness. Easy to learn step by step instruction is provided. Regular review and practice of the Tai Chi exercises are done in order to refine one's ability and to obtain a deeper connection with your internal "chi energy".
